For this project, I got to dive into the world of user experience (UX) design by creating a digital wireframe for a fictional app aimed at solving a specific problem for a target audience. The goal was to use a user-centered design approach to craft a delightful user experience. With a love for the beauty industry, I knew I wanted to create a unique mobile app that streamlined the way people shop for skincare, cosmetics, hair, etc. I started by interviewing a target user, my best friend Sam, to understand her unique needs when it comes to shopping skincare. Afterwards, I hopped onto the UX Mastery community website to read up on trending interfaces, color palettes, aesthetics, and what the community considers to be good or bad examples of UX designs! This research helped me identify what's working in existing apps and what could be improved.

With this insight, I began sketching my design on paper using an app sketch template and shared these sketches with my end-user to gather feedback. This collaborative process was incredibly insightful and allowed me to refine my design based on Sam’s real user input. Next, I moved on to creating a digital wireframe using Figma, pulling in UI elements from a mobile UI kit to bring my ideas to life. I utilized Icons8 which has thousands of incredible customizable icons to choose from in order to individualize my design even further.

Through this project, I learned the importance of understanding the user's perspective and the power of iterative design. I developed practical skills in sketching and wireframing, and gained a deeper appreciation for how thoughtful design can significantly improve user experiences. It was a rewarding journey from initial concept to a functional wireframe that addresses real user needs.
